Left unpainted, the rock faces read as pale stone, which saves paint for the ridges where it counts.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eBefore you start\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003ePaint each layer flat first, then glue – the lake and the ridges sit behind the forest layer, where a brush cannot reach once the stack is assembled.
