About this product
Forty-five centimetres of watchtower
The Tower builds upward rather than outward, and the finished structure stands 45 cm tall – from the smallest piece count in the Fortress series.
Historically the tower was where sentries stood in the walls of a fortified town, watching the approach. This one has the openings for it: window slots at each level and a crenellated top.
Two other things it builds
The same 213 pieces also make a Viking figure and a train, with separate plans for each in the booklet. That is unusual here: the other Fortress sets build their one structure and variations of it, while this one leaves the theme entirely.
Where it sits in the Fortress series
This is the entry point. Rated 6+ against 8+ for the walls, 10+ for the gateway and 12+ for the Castle, and the fewest pieces of the four. Built together the series forms a single fortified town, with this tower rising out of the centre of it.
Specifications
Untreated hardwood, no varnish or paint. Notched beams, interlocking, no glue or tools. Illustrated booklet. Ships at 1.35 kg in a 33 × 24 × 8 cm box.
