About this product
The shortest build here
A unicorn's head and neck, mane swept back, horn rising from the brow. At sixty-seven pieces it is half the count of the Staffy and the one to start with if you have not built a layered sculpture before.
An hour, near enough, including the sorting.
The horn is why it works
A unicorn's horn is ringed with spiral grooves, and stepped cardboard layers produce exactly that texture without trying. What is a visual effect everywhere else on the sculpture becomes literal here: the steps are the grooves.
It tapers to the finest point in the range, so treat the finished tip gently.
Where it differs from the others
With the dragon, the unicorn is one of the two mythical subjects among the six, and the mane is carved by the slices into flowing waves rather than the lion's radiating fan – calmer, closer to a chess piece than a portrait.
Finished
19 × 8 × 18 cm – narrow and tall, the slimmest footprint in the range. It fits a shelf between books where the cubic models will not.
