A children's mahjong, three ways
Forty-nine wooden tiles printed with animals rather than the traditional suits. The box describes three games in one: matching pairs, sorting, and a stacking game.
Traditional mahjong is a four-player gambling game with a hundred and forty-four tiles and rules that take an evening to learn. This borrows the tile format and none of that.
What a child actually does with it
Turns the tiles face down and finds pairs, which is memory. Sorts them by animal, which is classification. Or stacks them, which is balance – wooden tiles of even thickness stack far higher than card ones.
Marked 3–99, which is the manufacturer's way of saying the memory game works for anyone.
