About this product
The parchment version
The same wooden France and the same printed chart as our white panel, on a smooth warm beige ground inside a light oak frame, 65 × 65 cm. Nothing is different about the map itself; the ground and the frame are the entire decision, and they make this the warmer and quieter of the two.
Why the warm ground changes it
On the white panel the wooden France stands against a pale field with a weathered edge and reads as an object placed on an old chart. Here the wood, the ground and the frame belong to the same family, so the map reads as one thing, closer to marquetry than to a mounted piece. It is the easier of the two to live with in a room that already has strong colour.
What is cut and what is printed
France is a warm brown base with the départements and towns engraved and the region names cut into the wood; the vineyards are raised on top as separate pieces in lighter and darker tones, standing off the base. Around the edge the chart repeats each region with its grape varieties under it, joined by a leader line, with a title cartouche and a wine seal in the corners.
Where it belongs
Warm interiors: oak furniture, terracotta, exposed brick, a kitchen with wood in it. Against a cool grey or white room it works less hard than the white panel does. It arrives assembled and hangs from the fixing built into the back.
Panel or pieces
The wooden wine map of France is the same country without a chart or a frame, its region badges mounted straight on the wall around it, for a wall that can be given to one object.
One honest limitation
Decorative rather than authoritative. Vineyard boundaries are simplified to what can be cut and read at this scale, and the smallest designations are grouped. Someone who knows the regions well will notice.
Same wall, different room
Drag the slider – the only thing that changed is the map. No drill, no repainting: it mounts with the double-sided tape that comes in the box

Our craftsmanship
Made by our family, piece by piece
Every creatifwood map starts as a sheet of birch plywood in our family workshop. We cut, sand and finish each piece by hand, check every detail ourselves, and pack it ready to hang on your wall. No production lines, no shortcuts – just a small family that loves working with wood, and takes it personally that your map arrives perfect.
Meet the family behind your mapFrequently asked questions
Will the map stick to a textured wall?
Taped maps hold on lightly textured walls; very rough surfaces need extra tape. Framed panels hang from the fixing on the back, whatever the wall
How long does installation take?
A few hours for a 3D map, a couple for a 2D one, an hour or two for a wooden wine map, with the included tape and the template or corner stencils – no tools needed. A framed panel needs none: one fixing, a few minutes. The full routine for every map is on our installation page.
Can I remove it and remount later?
Yes. Warm each piece with a hair dryer and peel it off gently – the wall stays clean. To remount, use fresh adhesive tape; the original tape won't hold a second time. A framed panel simply comes off its hook
What if a piece is missing or broken?
Write to us with a photo and we will send a replacement. Details are on our Missing Pieces page.
