About this product
A wine chart, framed and ready
France cut in wood and mounted on a printed chart, inside a dark walnut frame, 65 × 65 cm. The chart is pale cream with a weathered, mottled border, faint vine leaves and grape circles drawn into it, a title cartouche top left and a round wine seal bottom left, so the whole object reads as an old chart rather than a new print. It arrives assembled and hangs from the fixing built into the back.
How the wood and the printing share the work
The wood carries the map: France as a warm brown base with the départements and towns engraved, Paris marked with a star, the region names cut into the wood, and the vineyards raised on top as separate pieces in paler and darker tones, so Bordeaux, the Loire, Burgundy and the Rhône stand off the base and throw a shadow.
The printing carries what wood cannot at this size: around the edge, each region is named again with its grape varieties listed under it, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay under Bourgogne, Merlot and Cabernet under Bordeaux, joined to the map by a leader line. It is the difference between a map you look at and one you read.
Where it belongs
Square, which places it comfortably over a sideboard or between cupboards where a landscape format would not sit. The dark frame and the aged ground suit a kitchen or dining room with some depth to it, and a room of framed things, where a borderless wooden map would not group with anything.
White or beige
The same map on two grounds. This one is the cooler and the more antique: cream with a weathered edge, in dark wood. The beige panel is a smooth warm parchment in a light oak frame, quieter in a warm room. Neither is more detailed than the other.
Panel or pieces
If you would rather build the map yourself and let the wall be the chart, the wooden wine map of France is the same country with its region badges mounted around it, and no frame.
One honest limitation
Decorative rather than authoritative. Vineyard boundaries are simplified to what can be cut and read at this scale, and the smallest designations are grouped. Someone who knows the regions well will notice.
Same wall, different room
Drag the slider – the only thing that changed is the map. No drill, no repainting: it mounts with the double-sided tape that comes in the box

Our craftsmanship
Made by our family, piece by piece
Every creatifwood map starts as a sheet of birch plywood in our family workshop. We cut, sand and finish each piece by hand, check every detail ourselves, and pack it ready to hang on your wall. No production lines, no shortcuts – just a small family that loves working with wood, and takes it personally that your map arrives perfect.
Meet the family behind your mapFrequently asked questions
Will the map stick to a textured wall?
Taped maps hold on lightly textured walls; very rough surfaces need extra tape. Framed panels hang from the fixing on the back, whatever the wall
How long does installation take?
A few hours for a 3D map, a couple for a 2D one, an hour or two for a wooden wine map, with the included tape and the template or corner stencils – no tools needed. A framed panel needs none: one fixing, a few minutes. The full routine for every map is on our installation page.
Can I remove it and remount later?
Yes. Warm each piece with a hair dryer and peel it off gently – the wall stays clean. To remount, use fresh adhesive tape; the original tape won't hold a second time. A framed panel simply comes off its hook
What if a piece is missing or broken?
Write to us with a photo and we will send a replacement. Details are on our Missing Pieces page.
