About this product

A poured glass on pale wood

The same glass and pour as our dark box, drawn in outline and engraved into unstained birch, with VIN below. Against pale wood the burnt line is finer and quieter: the drawing reads as a sketch rather than a statement.

The plainest box in the range

No stain, no colour, no rope: one line drawing and a word. It is the least decorated box we sell, which makes it the most versatile, because nothing about it fixes the occasion. It also means the bottle inside is what gets noticed, which is the right order for a good one. The same drawing on near-black stained wood, with the rope handle, is the dark Glass box.

Unfinished wood, and what that allows

Unstained birch takes acrylic, wood stain and dye, so the box can be coloured, initialled or decorated at home in a way the stained boxes cannot.

How it opens and what comes with it

Hook a finger in the hole at the top of the front panel and lift: the panel slides up out of grooves in the side panels, the bottle lifts out, and the panel slides back down to close the box again. A flat oval glass holder comes with it: set the hole over the neck of the bottle and it carries two glasses by their stems.

Size and what fits

10.5 × 10.5 × 33.5 cm, about 375 g empty, cut for one standard 75 cl bottle of still wine. The inside is bare wood, no padding, and the bottle stands upright in it.
