About this product
A bucket of leaves
Warm brown birch with an engraved bucket tipped on its side and pouring – but what comes out is a splash of water that turns, halfway down, into a fall of leaves: maple, oak and smaller ones, with drops between them. The drawing sits at the centre of the cover under the word SKETCHBOOK and the maker's mark.
It is the one design in the range that is a visual joke rather than a subject.
Two rings
Two birch boards on two exposed rings: the lightest and simplest binding here – less metal, a narrower ring line, a book that closes flat. Pages still lie completely open and lift out cleanly. A two-ring block fans more freely than a four-ring one, which some people like for quick sketching and others find loose; the four-ring Crea'Leaves is the same drawing for the second group.
How it is built
No hinge and no spine: the two boards are held by the rings alone, so the book opens flatter than any hinged cover and folds back on itself. When the block is full, open the rings and fit a new one; the boards carry on.
Paper and format
50 blank sheets of 90 g/m² drawing paper, for pencil, ink and marker rather than washes; the four-ring version carries 200 g/m² watercolour paper, so the choice between the two is paper as much as binding. A5, about 510 g.
