About this product
Vines on weathered grey wood
Grape bunches, vine leaves and curling tendrils engraved in two corners of the front panel, top right and bottom left, with VIN between them. The stain is a cool, weathered grey through which the grain of the plywood shows pale, and it is the only grey in the range: every other box here is brown or bare birch.
That colour is the reason to choose it. On a table of warm wood or in a kitchen of terracotta it stands apart rather than blending in.
The only botanical motif
The bottle and the glass designs are about the drink. This one is about where it comes from, which makes it the box for a bottle with a story: something from a named vineyard, or carried back from somewhere. The same vines on pale birch, without the rope, are the light Grape box.
How it opens and what comes with it
Hook a finger in the hole at the top of the front panel and lift: the panel slides up out of grooves in the side panels, the bottle lifts out, and the panel slides back down to close the box again. A jute rope handle is threaded through the top. A flat oval glass holder comes with it: set the hole over the neck of the bottle and it carries two glasses by their stems.
Size and what fits
10.5 × 10.5 × 33.5 cm, a little under 400 g empty, cut for one standard 75 cl bottle of still wine. The inside is bare wood, no padding, and the bottle stands upright in it.
