About this product

The same bouquet, on open rings

Warm honey birch with the peony-and-tulip bouquet engraved in fine line in the lower right corner, climbing partway up the right edge, and the rest of the board left as plain wood. It is the drawing from the hinged Spring on two separate boards held by four exposed rings, with nothing between them but the block.

What the rings change

No hinge and no spine: the book opens flatter than any hinged cover and folds right back on itself, a sheet lifts out with no spine in the way, and the whole thing weighs less. It is the plainest build in the range and the working notebook rather than the keepsake.

The grain does the rest. With most of the board plain, the figure in the plywood is as much of the design as the blossom, and no two covers are alike.

Which Spring

Three covers carry this bouquet: this one on open rings, the hinged Spring that closes into a solid block, and the Spring sketchbook with blank watercolour paper for drawing. Same wood, same drawing, three uses.

Paper and format

100 lined sheets of 80 g/m² paper, each page headed with a date line and the days of the week; pencil, ballpoint and fineliner. A5, about 18.5 × 22 cm closed and 4 cm thick, about 490 g – the lightest notebook in the range. When the block is full, open the rings and fit a new one; the boards carry on.
