A bag with a shell rather than a body
These are built the way a small piece of furniture is built. The curved body is birch plywood bent to shape, the oval side panels are cut from a single piece of solid oak or ash, and the whole thing holds its form whether it is full or empty.
A leather bag slumps when you set it down. This one does not, and that is the practical difference between the two rather than a stylistic one. Inside is one felt-lined compartment; outside, a flap that closes on a magnet and a silver chain that clips on and off its carabiners – long for cross-body, short for the shoulder, removed for a clutch. The maker also lists belt carry.
Which of the five?
Every model is the same shell; what differs is the stain and the flap. Two close with an envelope cut finished by a black leather corner: Mia wears it warm, in honey-stained birch with a geometric engraving, and Olivia wears it dark and plain.
Three close with a straight flap: Cora is the plainest of all, nothing on it but grain; Flora carries a small botanical engraving in one corner; and Flannery carries a whole engraved landscape, edge to edge.
Every one arrives in a wooden box
Not a dust bag, not card – a branded wooden case that the bag ships in. As a gift it needs nothing added, and the box keeps its use afterwards.
